Croatia

Croatia (Republic of Croatia, Republika Hrvatska) is a country between Central Europe, Southeast Europe, and the Mediterranean. Croatia is one of the successors of the earlier Yugoslavian state. It became independent after several crisis in 1991-95. The neighbor countries of the new Croatian state are Slovenia, Hungary, Serbia, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Montenegro. Furthermore there is  Croatia’s Adriatic Sea coast which contains more than one thousand smaller or bigger islands. Very attractive ground for a curious tourist.

The following pictures are divided in three separate parts after geographical and cultural division of the Croatian coast. These three parts are Istrian peninsula in north, The Kvarner Gulf in the middle and Dalmatia in south. In addition, Dalmatia is still divided for practical reasons into two parts: northern and southern.
