I carried out my compulsory military service in Helsinki Air Defense Regiment 1976-77. This military unit was (and still is) famous about good work when defensing Helsinki in the Second World War. When I was in the NCO (Non Commissioned Officer) School and in the Reserve Officers Training Corps, I was in both place selected also as the chief editor of the publication of the course. This position afforded me a splendid place to photograph every day life in the Finnish army in the 1970’s.
